The HIP regulations have been laid before Parliament on Thursday 29th March.

There were no last minute changes or back downs by the Government and therefore no surprises, at least for the positive among us.

The EPC is the first document in the pack and as such it is anticipated that Government Media focus will be energy related, but it must not be forgotten that the Home Condition Report is also an authorised document and the Government has stated that it is still an option to make it a mandatory document in the future if necessary. This being one of the Institutes stated objectives as such members are urged to promote the HCR in all areas.

It is also clear that there will be sufficient qualified persons to deal with the required EPC’s.
